The St. Mary’s Syriac Orthodox Church in San Francisco Bay Area celebrated its 1st anniversary as the parish day and the feast of the St. George as the foundation feast (“Kallitta Perunnaal”) on May 8th and 9th, 2010.

H.G. Thomas Mor Thimotheos Metropolitan, the Bishop of Kottayam diocese and Singapore & Malaysia was the chief celebrant of the Holy Trimass. Rev. Fr. Cherian Payyanickal and Rev. Fr. Sabu Thomas were co-celebrants. Rev. Fr. Thomas Kora (vicar) assisted His Grace in the celebrations. The Holy Trimass was followed by procession, offerings and luncheon.

Earlier, on May 8th, the cultural programs held as part of the Parish Day celebrations were marvelous. Notable were a candle dance by the Women’s league members, performances by the kids, a bible story based skit, and a duet performance.
